Mitsubishi Electric Australia report reveals rising energy costs is a major concern for Aussie households http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/News_Mitsubishi-Electric-Home-Trends-Report-2019.html Mitsubishi Electric has released its annual Australian Home Trends Report, which reveals Aussies are growing increasingly concerned with the rising cost of energy and its effect on their pocket.

2019 is the third year in which Mitsubishi Electric Australia has deep-dived into the living habits of everyday Australians. This has once again provided a holistic perspective of how we use the home, giving us an insight into the nation抯 current behaviours and preferences.

The report was conducted by YouGov who surveyed a nationally geographical representation of over 1,000 Australians aged 18 and above.

Focussing on the impact of energy usage in the home, the survey results show that Australians are making an enormous effort to change behaviours to reduce energy consumption or to at least select products that are more energy efficient. A snapshot of the main report findings is included below.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY: What are Australians?concerns?

  • Overall, the majority of Australians?(96%) level of concern about the cost of energy is growing ?an increase of one percentage point from last year (95%)
  • 88% of Australians are concerned about the impact our energy usage has on the environment
  • 72% of Australian believe that electric heaters are a big contributor to high energy usage
  • Only 15% of Australians believe their home is extremely energy efficient

When asked to rate the energy efficiency of their current living environment, two thirds (65%) believed their home is somewhat energy efficient, however, just 15% selected extremely energy efficient.

This insight is positive as it suggests that we, as consumers, have the awareness to improve behaviours, however, the research shows that we still have a while to go before significant change is made.

Australian households are the second biggest consumer of energy after the manufacturing sector, so it comes as no surprise that almost all (94%) of us are concerned with how energy efficient our appliances are.

Despite many believing air-conditioning units to be the second biggest energy users, many of us admit to forgetting to switch them off or leaving the windows open once turned on.

Jeremy Needham, Executive Director, Mitsubishi Electric Australia said demand for energy efficiency is only going to increase.

揝ince our last national study in 2018, Australian consumers continue to focus heavily on energy consumption. With our collective environmental consciousness becoming ever more socially important, attitudes towards energy efficiency and sustainability are stronger than ever before. Year on year we are seeing variations of new and emerging trends as generations change, new technologies and innovations take hold and society evolves,?said Jeremy.

揗itsubishi Electric Australia has been synonymous with high-quality and innovative appliances for more than 30 years, and as the experts in what consumers do and don抰 value in their homes, we are proud to continue to offer products designed specifically for Australians with high energy efficiency awareness in mind.?BR>

The excellent design and high-quality materials play an increasingly important role for Australians looking for more than a basic air conditioner,?Atesh said.

Product Features

Directs air to areas that require additional heating and cooling

  • Excellent design means that this unit抯 key features, like its double vanes, operate independently to distribute airflow evenly throughout the room. The unique split vane design allows airflow to be customised to suit different areas of the room, by independently directing air upwards, downwards or to the side.
  • This flexibility can also prevent air from striking obstacles, or direct air to areas that require additional heating or cooling. Split vane airflow is ideal for multi-level hallways in homes.?
  • The split vane design also means individual personal preferences can now be more easily accommodated. You prefer to feel the heat directly but your partner does not? Simple. A breakthrough in comfort, the split vane design means you can manually adjust the airflow direction to suit both occupants in the room at the same time.

Advanced filtration system

  • The unit also has a Plasma Quad Plus, which is an advanced, multi-stage filtration system designed to effectively neutralise contaminants such as allergens, viruses and bacteria ensuring the circulation of fresh, clean air back into the room.?
  • The Plasma Filter is charged with an electrical field and acts as a micro mesh 慶urtain?across the air inlet opening, effectively catching dust particles, allergens, bacteria and viruses with 99% efficiency (independently tested in a 25m3 room).
  • In addition, two air purifying filters and a deodorising filter effectively neutralise odours from the air.

Lower global warming potential

  • The MSZ-LN range uses R32 refrigerant, which has one-third the global warming potential of R410A. R32 enables increased energy efficiency, and is said to be the next generation of refrigerants.

Quiet and connected

  • Other key features include a whisper-quiet operation as low as 19 dB(A), making the product ideal for bedrooms and living spaces. To add, a built-in Wi-Fi interface enables full control and monitoring via the company抯 Wi-Fi Control App.

Experts provide insight into the Australian Home of the Future http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/media-release-Australian-home-of-the-future.html New research from Mitsubishi Electric Australia, the experts in electrical products and green energy, has led to key predictions for the Australian Home of the Future, from efficiencies and design to how we entertain and style.

Findings focus on how Australians are currently using their home, their behaviours and their ideals when it comes to appliances and electronics.

Efficiency

Energy efficiency is always a major concern; however, predictions show that there may be a reason for this to shift, particularly when it comes to cooling and heating the home.

For example, the research shows that 70% of Australians think that air conditioning is the biggest contributor to high energy usage around the home, however, Mitsubishi Electric Australia predicts that this could soon change if electronic design keeps moving at a steady pace.

揥e have been providing Australians with home cooling and heating solutions for more than 35 years and our products have played a part in significant change over time. Air conditioning is something that is evolving in regards to efficiencies in Australian homes. Innovations show that air conditioning units made as recently as 2002 run up to 40% less efficiently than new models. Consumers can expect this to continue to improve as new developments lead to even more efficient appliances for the home,?said Atesh Mani, Air Conditioning expert and Mitsubishi Electric National Product Manager.

As the brand that designed the very first cross-flow-fan air conditioner, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation holds Guinness World Record certification with 50 year抯 experience - and counting - of unrivalled expertise in powerful and efficient airflow.

Style

Research indicates that Australians are caring more about the look of their home, evident in the fact that 40% of families have redesigned or renovated after watching renovation shows on TV. The kitchen was identified by nine in 10 Aussies as the heart of the home. Increased interest in entertaining at home was also a key finding so it抯 no wonder that three quarters (76%) of Aussies identify appliance related features as aspects of their dream kitchen.

The appearance of kitchen appliances is becoming more and more important to Aussies. Recent design trends showcase an influx of modern European kitchen styles and larger sized fridge models now at the forefront of what抯 in demand. In addition, three in five (58%) Millennials say their dream kitchen includes modern style.

揜ecent designs provide insight into what the fridges of tomorrow抯 kitchen will include as basic components. Glass finishing on French doors and an LED touch screen panel are highly sought after features. These, along with slick colours and sleek, slim silhouettes will be seen across appliances for years to come,?says Jean-Marc Adele, Mitsubishi Electric Refrigeration Expert.

Entertaining

Seven in 10 (70%) Australians describe our culture of food as being about social dining, so it comes as no surprise that more than four in five (84%) of us entertain in our homes. More and more, Aussies are embracing cooking at home, and barbeques (79%), Australian-sourced produce (71%) and fresh seafood (59%) are what we characterise as our favourite fare.

揊resh food is a key component of Aussie household entertaining, and our products are designed with this in mind,?says Jean-Marc.

揑n years past, home cooks may never have thought it possible to freeze cooked food straight from the pan, or to keep meat freezer-fresh but still malleable, however, functionality such as Hot Freezing and Super Cool/Soft Freezing means you can. Mitsubishi Electric抯 new models include an VitaLED light in our fruit and veg drawers to slow down the wilting process, meaning green vegetables bought in bulk for entertaining purposes will stay fresher for longer. It抯 this kind of technology we look to the future with as we continue to deliver cutting-edge appliances designed specifically with the everyday Australian top of mind.?/p>

Design

Whilst most of us dream of a big, open plan kitchen, it抯 not always a reality. 揥e understand living spaces are decreasing in size? and are likely to continue to decrease in size in the future,?says Jean-Marc.

Almost all (98%) Australians agree that the fridge is a significant part of the kitchen. However, lack of space in the fridge (39%) and freezer (47%) creates issues when it comes to preparing meals. Fortunately, modern refrigerator design means this common problem may soon be a thing of the past.

揥e know Aussies love to cook, not only for their own household but in an entertaining capacity. That抯 why our fridges feature spacious fruit and vegetable drawers, and wide-opening French Doors,?says Jean-Marc.

揇ue to Australians love of fresh produce, we expect fridge space to further increase and freezer space to get smaller.?/p>

Mitsubishi Electric Australia report reveals concerns around household economy http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/home-trends-2018.html One of the world抯 leading suppliers of electrical products has today released its Mitsubishi Electric Australia Home Trends Report 2018, unveiling concerns around the household economy, mainly the cost of energy and food wastage.

The report was commissioned by Lonergan Research on behalf of Mitsubishi Electric Australia and surveyed a geographical representation of over 1,000 Australians. It provides a holistic perspective of how Australians use the home including the cost of living, design and entertainment. A snapshot of the report findings is included below.

COST OF ENERGY: What impact is Australia抯 rising energy prices having on the household economy?

? 95% of Australians are concerned about the cost of energy and how it impacts their household budget
? 88% of Australians are more concerned about energy costs now than they were just 12 months ago
? 85% of Australians have altered their domestic duties to reduce household energy consumption

Australia抯 rising energy prices are having an impact on family household budgets, however, it appears that as children grow older, these concerns decrease. Australian families with infants (0-4 years) expressed that they are 慹xtremely concerned?by energy costs followed by those families with children aged five to 12 years (42%) and families with children aged 12 to 17 years (36%).

As energy prices continue to soar, Australians are taking action to reduce energy usage costs around the home. Domestic duties have been altered; including washing clothes in cold water (75%), turning items off at the power outlet (65%), and using the clothesline instead of the dryer (63%). Additionally, one in four (26%) Australian families are now replacing their appliances with items that are more energy efficient.

Jessica Millard, Marketing & Communications Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia said demand for energy efficiency is only going to increase.

揥e抳e been an integral part of Australian kitchens for more than 30 years and the demand for appliance options that save Australians cash in the long run has boomed in the past 24 months. We抮e committed to catering to this local market demand and are proud to have launched our new line of refrigerators, designed specifically for Australians with high energy efficiency,?said Jessica.

FOOD WASTAGE: What impact is food having on our household economy?

? Australian family households are wasting $76.4 million in uneaten food per week
? 37% of Australians have decreased the number of takeaways they have ordered in the past 12 months
? 33% have decreased the number of ready-made meals that they have eaten in the past 12 months

Energy is not the only significant cost of running a home. Groceries are also a huge component of household budgets with the average weekly grocery basket coming to $163.07 or $604.8 million nationally. While household budgets appear to be tight, Australian families are wasting a significant proportion of food; with an average of 13% ($20.59) going uneaten each week - a total loss of $76.4 million per week (4 billion per annum) in uneaten food.

揂ustralians spend more on fresh food each week than any other food group. Fresh food often goes to waste as many are unaware that fridge settings can play a major part in keeping things crisper and healthier, longer. Additionally, new technologies mean that fresh food can be frozen easier than ever before. For example, our new fridges include a Versa drawer with Hot Freeze function. This means that cooked food can be put into the freezer while warm. No more need to leave leftovers cooling on the bench top,?said Jessica.

Chillers just got slimmer http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news8367.htm Mitsubishi Electric Australia has launched a range of advanced, inverter-driven chillers to the Australian market.

The highly efficient e-series modular chiller range is designed to answer the need for controllable, energy efficient cooling and heating with reduced plant size and a host of advanced features and benefits taken straight from the company抯 experience in the air conditioning industry.

Mitsubishi Electric has marketed chillers in Japan since the 1970抯 and the company抯 engineers have looked at every aspect of the technology to design a modular system with a reduced footprint for smaller units.

The e-series chiller available in heat pump and cooling only modules uses two advanced DC inverter-driven scroll compressors in each 90 kW module ?taken from the VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) sector, to deliver a capacity range of 8% to 100%. The models deliver market-leading levels of efficiency with the ability for units to operate on their own or in tandem with others.

The unique shape and modular design of the e-series mean that the system can be constructed with up to six individual units connected together, to provide a capacity of between 90kW and 540kW.

The use of U-shaped heat exchangers offers a greater surface area and also means that the units are much narrower than conventional systems. Each 90kW module can be positioned next to each other in a row with up to six units using the same inbuilt, internal header.  For larger systems, it is also possible to have double rows of the units with a gap of only 900 mm service space.

揅hillers and chilled water systems have been used for decades to deliver controlled cooling to buildings? said Atesh Mani, National Product Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia. 揟he e-series introduces improvements in energy efficiency, reduced installation footprint, and reduced noise levels?Mani added.

The e-series achieves some of the quietest noise levels on the market which is increasingly important in inner city locations.  These low noise levels are achieved through both the unique construction and design of each unit as well as the advanced component technology within each chiller, which is also easily integrated with new and existing systems using BMS control.

Beat the heat this summer - an air conditioning buying guide http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/beat-the-heat-tips-and-air-conditioning-buying-guide.html With another hot summer coming, it is time to think about cooling options. There are some choices available from instant relief with fans through to whole home ducted air conditioning systems and everything in between.

An air conditioner is an investment in comfort that will service you for years to come, make sure you invest in the best. Mitsubishi Electric provides climate controlled comfort wherever you live, work and relax, offering state-of-the-art technology that is quiet, simple to use, reliable and energy efficient.

Wall mounted split systems

Wall mounted split system air conditioners deliver relief for a single space such as a bedroom, study or living room.

What to look for:

  • Air conditioners with higher Star Ratings can help you reduce energy use and help save you money.
  • Noise affects comfort, so it抯 important to select a system that is quiet to run. The 2.5/4.5 kW models from Mitsubishi Electric are so quiet you抣l forget it抯 on!
  • A front panel that is easily detached will allow you to clean inside the air conditioner. A clean air conditioner improves energy efficiency.
  • Located in Northern Australia? If you don't need heating then a cooling only air conditioner may be all you need.

Multi-split systems

A multi-split system might be an attractive alternative to cool and heat more than a single room. Multiple indoor units connect to one outdoor unit. Choose a smaller wall mounted indoor unit for a bedroom and a larger one for a living room.

For a media room choose a ceiling concealed unit which blows air out of a bulkhead or a ceiling cassette.

Mitsubishi Electric offers systems that cater for 2-8 indoor units from a single outdoor unit.

What to look for:

  • Quiet operation ?look at noise levels of not just the indoor unit, but the outdoor unit too.

Ducted air conditioning systems

For the ultimate in year-round comfort, for the whole house, it is hard to go past a ducted air conditioning system. With the indoor unit located in the ceiling space, cool and warm air is delivered throughout the house via ductwork.

What to look for:

  • Guaranteed operation for outdoor temperatures of -20癈 for heating and up to 46癈 for cooling
  • Inverter technology ?as the demand for cooling and heating capacity increases and decreases in your home, so does the power of the outdoor unit. The system will ramp up and down as required, rather than turn on with a clunk sound like non-inverter systems.

Zone control

Divide a home ducted air conditioning system with zone control. Save energy and money by only air conditioning the section of your home you need to. Shut of areas that are not being used and direct the air conditioning to where it is needed.

What to look for:

  • A controller with built-in sensors for temperature, brightness, and occupancy can make rooms feel more comfortable & helps to reduce energy consumption.

Wi-Fi control

Connect your air conditioner to your air conditioner to your smartphone and tablet and get the freedom to fully control each unit on-the-go via an internet connection from anywhere in the world. Was your air conditioner left on when you left the house? With Wi-Fi Control for air conditioners, you can check with an app for your phone.

What to look for:

  • Wi-Fi Control with operating rules can be programmed to automatically turn on/off at specific times or when a specific temperature is reached.

Pedestal fans

Need relief from the heat today? A pedestal fan will generate a breeze which may offer some immediate respite on a hot day or nights. Fans design and technology has come a long way in recent years. When you have a constant air flow, the cooling effect starts to wear off. Mitsubishi Electric solved this by developing a Rhythm mode which replicates natural breeze. The strength of the air flow is varied, so it feels cooler.

What to look for:

  • Solid construction and attention to the fan motor casement can give a fan which is quieter to run making it more suitable for a bedroom.

Get the right advice!

What size air conditioner do I need? How much does it cost to install an air conditioner?

Choosing the right size air conditioning system for your individual needs is critically important. There are many factors that affect the "air conditioning load" of a system, such as aspect, windows, room exposure to sunlight, electronic devices etc.

Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealers are air conditioning specialists, trained to select the right air conditioning system for your home.

If you are building a new house, speak to a specialist air conditioning dealer, and they can advise what system would suit your needs. If you are thinking of buying a ducted system, the Dealer can also provide feedback on where voids need to be placed on your plans to allow for ductwork.

Once the weather heats up, there will be a high demand for home air conditioning installations. Get ahead of the queue this summer and have a chat with a Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Dealer about your air conditioning requirements.

Introducing the latest Jet Towel technology from Mitsubishi Electric http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news7332.htm SYDNEY, Australia, November 17 2015: Mitsubishi Electric Australia announced today the release of the latest model in its Jet Towel Hand Dryer series ?the 9th Generation Slim Model. First designed in 1992, Mitsubishi Electric抯 Jet Towel is the original air jet hand dryer, and the new model builds upon this pioneering technology with super-fast yet quiet drying, improved durability and hygiene.

The 9th Generation Slim Series has purpose-built features to satisfy any energy and hygiene conscious commercial environment designers and installers. With an air speed of approximately 106 metres per second, the hand dryer works faster than most conventional warm air dryers, removing water from the hands from 10 seconds. Noise levels are not sacrificed for the speed ?noise is considerably reduced to 56-59 dB, (2dB quieter than previous model), making the new Jet Towel Slim Series one of the quietest commercial hand dryers in the market.

The series has also been enhanced with vandal-resistant features designed to improve the overall durability of the hand dryer. For example, hidden switches and buttons have been moved to the inside of the panel to prevent unauthorised operation, whilst the front and back panels have been strengthened to increase body durability. The Jet Towel Slim Series also employs advanced motor technology and optimum airflow, ensuring low energy consumption from only 550W to 1240W, and therefore reduced running costs and a long operational life.

Hygiene-friendly is the term to describe the new Jet Towel Slim Series. Antibacterial resin is now on the entire surface of the product, not just on the hand drying areas, thus offering users the cleanest experience possible. Also new to this model is a Water Level Window, allowing maintenance staff to easily check water levels and maintain the hand dryer at its highest quality possible.

揟he latest Jet Towel Slim Series is designed with the highest quality and reliability in mind, to provide users with the best experience possible. Available in Super White, Silver Dark Grey, and Dark Grey, and backed by cutting-edge technology, they are ideal for any commercial environment. Ultimate in home comfort with intelligent air conditioning system from Mitsubishi Electric http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6964.htm Mitsubishi Electric Australia announced today the release of the MSZ-FH series of residential air conditioning systems with features that ensure optimal temperature control and provide a natural airflow system.

Intelligence has been built into the MSZ-FH air conditioning series. For example, the 3D i-see Sensor scans the entire room and divides it into 752 three-dimensional zones, measuring the temperature in each to detect the exact position of its occupants based on their heat signatures. This allows for the perfect amount of heating or cooling to be customised based on preference of the individual.

The 3D i-see Sensor also acts as an intuitive occupancy sensor, able to detect when you leave the room. When no-one is in the room, the unit automatically switches to energy-saving mode. The 3D i-see Sensor detects people抯 absence and the power consumption is automatically reduced approximately 10% after 10 minutes and 20% after 60 minutes.

MSZ-FH series also introduces Natural Flow, an airflow function, which is able to reproduce real air movements causing a sense of comfort based on actual wind speed measurements recorded in the Japanese Kirigamine Highland in the Nagano Prefecture, known for its comfortable climate in summer.

Air purification is handled by the Plasma Filter System, an advanced, multi-stage filtration system designed to effectively neutralise contaminants such as allergens, viruses and bacteria ensuring the circulation of fresh, clean air back into the room. The Plasma Filter is charged with an electrical field and acts as a micro mesh 慶urtain?across the air inlet opening, effectively catching dust particles, allergens, bacteria and viruses. In addition, two air purifying filters and a deodorising filter effectively neutralise odours from the air. This level of advanced filtration system is ideal for those suffering from Asthma and other airborne allergies.

Unique dual split vane design allows airflow to be customised to suit different areas of the room, by independently directing air upwards, downwards or to the side. This flexibility can also prevent air from striking obstacles or direct air to areas that require additional heating or cooling. Dual split vane airflow is ideal for multi-level hallways in homes.

揟he MSZ-FH series is designed with the needs of the occupant at the centre. The system can be adjusted easily, maintains air purification and also provides a sense of natural airflow throughout the building. This series breaks new ground with intelligent features to deliver the ultimate in home comfort,?says Atesh Mani, National Product Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

World's first and only Hybrid VRF system gets a boost http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6943.htm Mitsubishi Electric Australia announced today that the world抯 first and only Hybrid Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system has been expanded from 8-branch connections to 16. The Hybrid VRF is a world first simultaneous heating and cooling 2-pipe system that uses refrigerant between the outdoor unit and the HBC (Hydro BC controller), and water between the HBC and the indoor units. HBC is the most unique part in this system and allows heat exchange between refrigerant and water. This system is suitable for a wide variety of installations.

The Hybrid system provides simultaneous cooling and heating offering heat recovery between indoors running on opposite modes. Two refrigerant pipes connect the outdoor units to the HBC, and a pair of plastic water lines is run out to each indoor unit, allowing energy-saving heat recovery operation. Smooth auto-switching (heating and cooling) based on a set temperature provides convenient operation and a comfortable environment.

揟he Hybrid VRF system operates without using refrigerant in occupied spaces, removing the need for leak detection equipment and allowing more properties to take advantage of manageable phased installation through the system抯 modular design,?says Raja Gounder, Deputy General Manager Business Development, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

揟he use of water has the added benefit of more stable temperatures coming out of the indoor units. For these reasons, Hybrid VRF is the ideal air conditioning solution for hospitals, hotels, and offices,?says Gounder.

Temperatures are more stable during defrost as the systems uses heat of the hot water that circulates between the HBC and the indoor units. Defrost time is shorter compared to conventional systems.

Mitsubishi Electric Unveils Australia抯 Highest Resolution Outdoor LED Display http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6894.htm Mitsubishi Electric Australia announced today the unveiling of a Diamond Vision Super Screen for Caulfield Racecourse, in Melbourne Victoria, with 4K ultra-high definition pixel density. The display is a massive 319.5 square metres, with a pixel density of 10,000 dots/m2, it will be the highest resolution LED outdoor display in Australia of this size.

The screen was made using 75 separate cabinets comprised of Mitsubishi Electric AVL-ODT10 Diamond Vision LED modules, which provides true 10mm pixel pitch spacing and uses a 3-in-1 surface mount LED (SMD) featuring Mitsubishi Electric抯 revolutionary Real Black LED technology.

揟he use of the Real Black LED technology allows for deep, rich black levels and unsurpassed vertical viewing angles in an outdoor LED display product. The characteristics of Real Black LED technology will ensure that Caulfield racegoers have a clear view of the screen up close and in bright sunlight conditions,?says Tim Mitchell, Technical Sales Engineer, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

Mitsubishi Electric has significant experience with traditional lamp-based RGB LED display products as well as 3-in-1 SMD technology. Mitsubishi Electric Launches Flagship Slim Design, Large Refrigerator http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6849.htm SYDNEY, Australia, 11 March 2015: Mitsubishi Electric Australia takes the kitchen to another level with the release of its new multi-drawer refrigerator, the MR-WX743Y.

Boasting a luxurious and slim design, large internal capacity, and Mitsubishi Electric抯 latest Smart Cube innovation and inverter technology, this model is ideal for the modern and design-conscious household.

Has Capacity, yet is Compact and Efficient

With an impressive 743 litre capacity, the refrigerator is larger than you would expect for one with such compact dimensions ?this is due to the Smart Cube design, developed by Mitsubishi Electric. The Smart Cube technology increases capacity without enlarging the dimensions, while keeping top-class energy efficiency at the same time. Wall thickness is reduced without any loss of efficiency ?due to a unique Vacuum Insulation Panel and proprietary urethane-filling technology ?while high-density urethane reinforces the walls of the refrigerator. All these components create a smaller energy footprint.

The MR-WY743Y achieves a 3.5 star energy rating, one of the highest for a refrigerator of that capacity*, and naturally, the higher the energy rating, the lower the power consumption costs will be over time.  This efficiency is thanks to the Smart Cube design, coupled with energy features such as Mitsubishi Electric抯 inverter technology and advanced energy savings settings. With the inverter technology, the speed of the compressor varies according to demand to maximise energy efficiencies. For example, once the set temperature is stabilised, the compressor speed slows down, thereby reducing power consumption.

Style at the Heart

The multi-drawer refrigerator also comes in two striking colours, catered for a range of tastes. The Dark Mahogany model is naturally suited for kitchens with a dark colour palette, while the Diamond White version is a fresh take on the classic white. Tempered glass shelves and glass-front panels further add a modern touch, while the digital control panel means that the refrigerator can perform optimally at all times, according to the user抯 needs.

The MR-WX743Y comes with many additional features, including:

  • The Supercool Chilling Case, Supercool and Soft Freezing functions allow users to store food for longer without losing its freshness
  • Wide Chilled Case ?providing ample room to store dairy products
  • Ice maker ?which cleans automatically, meaning that no plumbing is required

The MR-WX743Y joins Mitsubishi Electric抯 EX Series of premium multi drawer refrigerators, all made in Japan.

Australia抯 Kitchen Revolution - Food TV shows stirring a gender shift in the kitchen http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6847.htm SYDNEY, Australia, March 11 2015: The rising popularity of television food shows may be blurring traditional gender roles in the kitchen. Australia抯 Kitchen Revolution, a new report commissioned by Mitsubishi Electric, offers new insight into Australia抯 changing home cooking trends. The survey* canvassed 2,000 household grocery buyers across Australia to understand how cooking shows have impacted home cooking and eating habits.

The survey revealed that not only do men watch cooking shows nearly as frequently as women (50% of men versus 52% of women), but that this may be part of a broader shift in kitchen gender roles, with men reporting:

  • Cooking at home more frequently in the last two years (42%)
  • Preparing lunches at home more frequently (28%)
  • Buying ready-made convenience meals less often (32%)

The survey also revealed that men are equally likely to entertain at home as women but are more likely to cook for social dinner parties (35% of men versus 32% of women). Women, on the other hand, are more likely to cook for family gatherings and special celebrations.

?/SPAN>Having been a part of Aussie kitchens for more than 30 years, we know that the preferences and needs of Australian families are constantly evolving. While the kitchen was historically seen as the woman抯 domain, the modern man seems to take pride in preparing meals and entertaining friends in the home. This suggests that cooking skills may be a new type of status symbol for men,?said Jessica Millard, Marketing and Communications Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

Generation Y leading the home cooking revolution

The survey also found members of Generation Y to be the most frequent watchers of cooking shows as well as the country抯 most regular entertainers, with 54% cooking meals for guests at least once a month.

The results also suggest that Gen Y抯 preference for cooking shows may be part of a broader movement toward greater innovation in the kitchen with:

  • 79% of Gen Ys having recently cooked with new recipes
  • 61% indicating that their cooking and eating behaviours have changed in the last two years, and that they now cook at home more and eat out slightly less

Growing desire for healthier meals with family

The research also indicated a movement toward healthier Australian households. Half of grocery buyers (51%) reported cooking at home more frequently and eating out at restaurants less often, with health organisations cited as being the most influential in the decision to do so. Relatedly, grocery buyers are prioritising fresh food, superceding the value placed on both discount and price.

Of those surveyed:

  • 97% of main grocery buyers stated that buying 揻resh?is important
  • Two-thirds (69%) described it as extremely important

Grocery buyers are also spending more time reading labels and ingredient/additives lists with the report finding they are 5.7x more likely to have increased the time they spend reading labels in the last two years.

Food TV shows sparking a home cooking movement among Generation Y http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news6846.htm SYDNEY, Australia, March 11 2015: The rising popularity of television food shows may be encouraging a cooking movement among Australia抯 youngest generations. 揌aving been a part of Aussie kitchens for more than 40 years, we know that the preferences and needs of Australian families are constantly evolving. Mitsubishi Electric Powers iFLY Downunder http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news3826.htm SYDNEY, Australia ?24 June, 2014 ?Mitsubishi Electric Australia today announced its technology partnership with iFLY Downunder, Australia抯 first indoor skydiving facility which opened publically in April, 2014. The Mitsubishi Electric technology has been installed at iFLY Downunder as part of Mitsubishi Electric抯 long-standing relationship with SkyVenture, the supplier of vertical wind tunnels for iFLY globally.

To power its vertical wind tunnel and ensure that a smooth experience for every flyer, iFLY Downunder has deployed three Mitsubishi Electric components:

  • Four FR-F700 variable speed drive (VSD) inverters, which control the fan technology that creates the wind in the tunnel. The inverters control four 315 kilowatt motors in the wind tunnel, which helps create wind speeds of up to 250 kilometres per hour. The Mitsubishi Electric inverter technology is utilised across all of Mitsubishi Electric抯 product ranges ?from air conditioners and refrigerators to industrial automation applications.
  • The industry leading Q-Series Modular programmable logic controller (PLC), which regulates the inverters by monitoring different variants for maintenance and safety, including elements such as temperature, vibrations and other changes in the environment. It also allows the operator to regularly control the speed of the wind.
  • CC-Link ?Mitsubishi Electric抯 proprietary industrial communication network ?which links the VSD and PLC together. This allows the wind tunnel operator to manage all components via one control, thereby more easily ensuring that each flight is a smooth, reliable and fun experience.

揟aking the technology that we抮e putting into factory automation, refrigerators and air conditioning and helping the iFLY team create Australia抯 first indoor skydiving experience has given us the opportunity to show its capabilities in an unusual (and entertaining) environment,?said Grant Millard, Product Sales Engineer, Mitsubishi Electric Australia. 揙ur innovative technologies are designed to deliver reliability, longevity and energy-efficiency no matter what the application is, and iFLY and SkyVenture抯 trust in our products globally is a testament to this.?

搃FLY globally have been very impressed with the performance and quality of the Mitsubishi Electric products, so it made perfect sense to extend our partnership in Australia,?said Brett Sheridan, Chief Marketing Officer, iFLY Downunder. 揝ince our opening in April, we have been able to provide exceptional flight experiences to thousands of flyers ranging from kids as young as 3 to large corporate groups, a large part of it due to the consistency and efficiency afforded by the Mitsubishi Electric technologies.?

Mitsubishi Electric HC9000D Projector Brings the 3D Cinema Experience Home http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news3202.htm

Mitsubishi Electric HC9000D 3D ProjectorStylish in design, this glossy black projector is the first model in Mitsubishi Electric抯 line-up to utilise SXRD?panel technology, and features full 1080P high-definition resolution with stereoscopic 3D support and excellent image reproduction.

Using SXRD panel technology, the HC9000D is able to generate 240 frames per second (120 frames each for the left and right eye) to reproduce 3D motion. At twice the speed of traditional frame sequencing it ensures that image crosstalk is reduced to a minimum, for fantastic 3D images with exceptional clarity and detail.

The reflective SXRD panels boast a number of technological advantages, compared to conventional glass-substrate liquid-crystal panels which project images by passing backlight through them. The optimised structure of the SXRD panels provides a narrower gap between pixels (only 0.2祄). This effectively minimises the 搒creen door?effect caused by space between pixels, for overall smoother image reproduction. SXRD panels are only half the thickness of conventional liquid-crystal panels, giving the HC9000D a rapid response time of 2ms, delivering fast moving images with minimal motion blur. The HC9000D also uses separate reflective liquid-crystal panel for each of the primary colours (red, green and blue). The light from each panel is then merged at the optical block and projected, resulting in the reproduction of truly natural colours with excellent pixel alignment.

揟his is our finest home theatre projector to date,?said Matthew Hanna, Division Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Australia抯 Visual Information Systems group. 揟hanks to the technology we抳e used in the HC9000D, it not only provides excellent 3D movie support but also delivers superb images from regular Blu-Ray and DVD sources as well as high-definition TV broadcasts.?/P>

The HC9000D comes equipped with the latest high performance Reon-VXTM video processor with HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) technology. This processor provides high performance video scaling, which guarantees superior pixel conversion when images are being converted from 720x480p to 1920x1080p, as well as 14-bit digital gamma correction. This enables the projector to reproduce subtleties in dark images. A newly developed optical compensator significantly reduces light lost during image processing. Used in combination with the SXRD panels, the optical compensator has allowed us to achieve contrast ratios up to 150,000:1.

Other features of the HC9000D include a 1.8x powered focus and zoom lens, a motorised lens shift for easy horizontal and vertical adjustment, individual colour management for primary (RGB) and secondary (CMY) colours and a built-in cinema filter function for the expansion of the colour spectrum levels (particularly green and cyan). The projector has two HDMI v1.4 input terminals, a centre lens design for simplified screen orientation and anamorphic lens compatibility for widening the range of cinema-scope images.

The projector features a lamp life of up to 4000-hours, a screen trigger terminal and comes with an illuminated remote control, the 3D emitter and four pairs of active shutter 3D glasses.

Brightness has been given a boost with the latest installation projector from Mitsubishi Electric http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news2909.htm 燤itsubishi Electric today announced the release of the XD3500U installation projector. This new installation projector model enables users to deliver stellar images in large areas such as conference rooms and lecture halls, thanks to its stunning 5000 ANSI lumens brightness.

Mitsubishi Electric XD3500U installation projectorHigh brightness isn抰 the only outstanding feature of this DLP?projector - superior colour performance is also realised thanks to the combination of BrilliantColourTM technology, a five segment colour wheel and selective lamp power modulation. Each of these innovative features ensures truer image reproduction from your presentations, with rich and vibrant colours to captivate the audience.

揃rightness isn抰 the only thing to consider when choosing a projector for a large area ?image reproduction is also an important factor?said Stuart Baker, Visual Information Systems Senior Manager, Mitsubishi Electric Australia. 揊ortunately with the XD3500U, the colour boosting technologies incorporated not only ensure accurate image reproduction, but also vibrant image reproduction.?/p>

Breakthroughs in projector design have significantly boosted the longevity of the projector抯 operating life. A newly designed, enclosed colour wheel system has effectively prevented the accumulation of dust on the colour wheel sensor, resulting in sharper images which are clear of colour bleeding. A new lamp drive system has also been designed which maximises projector brightness for the entire service life of the lamp.

In addition to great picture quality and sturdiness, the XD3500U has been designed with user-friendliness in mind. A very quiet operating volume of just 26dBA (in low mode) lets your audience enjoy presentations free of any distraction from the projector. It also offers remote administration and monitoring via a local area network (LAN) allowing the user to control the projector through a web browser, as well as receive e-mails if a projector requires maintenance (e.g. when it抯 time to replace the lamp). Side access to the lamp bay simplifies the replacement process (e.g. a projector suspended from the ceiling doesn抰 need to be removed from its mounting bracket when exchanging the lamp).

A filter free design coupled with a lamp life of up to 4000 hours mean the projector has a low cost of ownership and reduced maintenance needs, saving the user time and money. Power consumption of less than 1W in standby mode also reduces running costs (while at the same time reducing the projector抯 carbon footprint). A password lock and user programmable logo screen provides adequate security measures to discourage theft of the unit.?/p>

The XD3500U features a motorised lens shift function and interchangeable lenses are available so you can change between short throw, long throw, tele-throw and a rear projection short throw fixed lens.

Availability and Pricing
The XD3500U is available from all Mitsubishi Electric product dealers. For further details please visit www.kurotaitu.com or email mea_vis@meaust.meap.com

The RRP for the XD3500U is AUD$7,290.00

Mitsubishi Electric Announces Sale of Glass Bonded Type Colour TFT-LCD Modules For Industrial Use http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news2471.htm Mitsubishi Electric Corporation today announced the development of two new industrial use colour Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT-LCD) with protective glass covering. The new glass bonded colour TFT-LCD modules will be available in 12.1-inch and 15-inch, the main sizes for industrial-use TFT-LCDs, in addition to its current line up.

These modules offer excellent visibility in outdoor applications, due not only to their high luminance but also to their low reflectivity in bright environments.

揑n recent years TFT-LCD modules have become widely used in various environments and applications, such as GPS navigation systems for vehicle and marine equipment, as well as outdoor-use information display terminals like POS, ATMs and Kiosks?said Stuart Baker, Senior Manager of the Visual Information Systems division, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

揗anufacturers of these products generally secure the surface of TFT-LCDs with anti-scratch and waterproof protective glass, which increases assembly time and quality concerns. As an alternative, there is increasing demand for glass bonded TFT-LCD products with protective glass already attached to the surface. There are, however, very few TFT-LCD manufacturers that sell glass bonded products, and Mitsubishi Electric is the only Japanese manufacturer that does so,?Baker said.

The newly developed 12.1-inch XGA and 15.0-inch XGA glass bonded models are additions to its current lineup of glass bonded products: 9-inch WVGA, 12.1-inch WXGA and 14.1-inch WXGA. The 12.1-inch XGA model achieves brightness of 900 cd/m2 and the 15.0-inch XGA model achieves brightness of 1,500 cd/m2, offering excellent visibility in combination with their glass bonded surfaces.

By bonding 3-millimeter thick protective glass onto TFT-LCD module surfaces with resin, outside light reflection has been reduced by 90 percent1 compared to products combined with regular protective glass. This improvement helps achieve excellent visibility in outdoor environments due to low reflectivity in bright areas.

In addition, the protective glass is bonded onto the TFT-LCD modules within the Mitsubishi Electric quality-managed factory. The high-quality glass bonded modules help customers simplify their assembly process and avoid quality concerns such as particle, dirt and other contaminants damaging the LCD during reassembly at customer production lines.

Mitsubishi Electric Develops Dual-rate Burst-mode Optical Transceiver for 10G-EPON Systems http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news3018.htm World抯 first transceiver for GE-PON and 10G-EPON

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today it has developed the world抯 first dual-rate burst-mode optical transceiver that enables the coexistence of GE-PON and 10G-EPON, which is used in optical line terminals. This announcement will also be made today at OFC/NFOEC2010 (Optical Fiber Communication Conference and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference) held in San Diego, USA.

The transceiver will be integral to cost-effectively installing 10G-EPON systems on existing fiber plant networks. This will enable the optical access system to provide a faster, more economic connection by using existing optical fiber networks effectively.

Part of this work was supported by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology.

Background

In the current, FTTH optical access system, the 1Gbps GE-PON is being extensively utilized. But with the recent growth of internet traffic, an optical access system of 10G-EPON that can transmit data 10 times faster is expected to provide users with a more comfortable online environment, such as easier high-definition video delivery and bulk file transfers.

When the 10G-EPON system is introduced, to reduce costs for laying fibers and equipment, both the GE-PON and 10G-EPON systems are required to be installed in the same fiber. To downstream from an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) to an Optical Network Unit (ONU) a mixed installation using multiple wavelength systems that multiplex 1Gbps signals and 10Gbps signals in different wavelengths is required. To upstream from ONU to OLT, a mixed installation using time-division multiplexing systems that multiplex them in the same wavelength is required. The biggest challenge is the development of a 10G/1G Dual-rate Burst 3R Transceiver for 10G-EPON corresponding to those systems.

Main Developments

1) Dual-rate burst-mode 3R transceiver enabling co-existing of 10G-EPON and GE-PONs
Mitsubishi Electric has developed key devices for dual-rate burst-mode optical transceiver to enable the coexistence of GE-PON with 10G-EPON. The key devices achieve the world抯 highest receiver sensitivity.
(1) Chip set for dual-rate burst-mode receiving circuit
Burst-mode preamplifier IC and limiting amplifier IC are developed, which can switch their gain and bandwidth optimized for 10Gbps and 1Gbps receiver less than 800ns
(2) 82.5GS/s sampling CDR (Clock and Data Recovery) for dual-rate operation
Burst-mode CDR consists of 82.5GS/s sampling IC, the world抯 fastest sampling speed, and a dual-rate data selector logical circuit

2) Optical performances complying with the strictest standards IEEE802.3av PR30 standards
Mitsubishi Electric developed optical devices (EML, DFB, APD-preamplifier) and a triplexer optical module, which fully meet the IEEE802.3av PR30 standards. They are integrated into a XFP-E-sized 2R transceiver. Their excellent transmission performance enables a loss budget of 29dB, the split ratio of 32 and a maximum transmission distance of SMF 20km, effectively utilizing existing fiber plant networks for coexistent GE-PON and 10G-EPON systems.

Patents

The technologies announced in this press release encompass 25 Japanese and 9 international patents pending.

Mitsubishi Electric offers a clear choice with its new MR-508U and MR-560U refrigerators http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news2050.htm Mitsubishi Electric has today announced its latest models of home refrigerators, the large capacity 508 litre MR-508U and 560 litre MR-560U that come with the latest advances in anti-bacteria technology and a range of new space saving storage options for Australian families.

The MR-508U and MR-560U models feature an elevating shelf that can be raised or lowered by up to 40 millimetres using a sliding lever. This is particularly useful for those hard to store bottles that need to remain vertical. The best part is you can slide the shelf while the items are still on it.

To create more space, the new models also come with a flexible glass shelf that can be folded back in half, or extended to provide two full glass tiers. All the refrigerator抯 tempered glass shelves are built to support up to 101 kilograms of weight.

Tony Hirst, Director, Mitsubishi Electric Living Environment Group said, 揙ur customers have asked us to reintroduce a large family size refrigerator, our response was designing a range that offered over 500 litres of storage capacity?

The MR-508U and MR-560U抯 unique anti-bacteria food liner offers anti-bacteria protection. This has been achieved by using inorganic anti-bacteria material that is non toxic and conforms to the highest Japanese food sanitation laws. Bacterial growth is also inhibited by the refrigerators?cooling system that uses Negative Ion technology to surround the food items and preserve the nutrients and freshness of the food.

Another feature that makes the MR508U and MR560U fridges stand out are their crystal clear ice function. Normally water has air bubbles that make ice cubes look clear on the top but translucent underneath. Mitsubishi Electric抯 revolving ice tray system makes the ice clear throughout.
A unique design feature is the slim handle design. The handle runs along the entire length of the fridge door meaning you can easily open it from any height.

Both models come with the Mitsubishi Electric five year parts, labour and compressor warranty.

Other features of the new models include:

  • An adjustable door shelf
  • Surround Cooling System and big tower light

Mitsubishi Electric takes a healthy leap into spring with new energy efficient MSZ-FB series http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news2043.htm Mitsubishi Electric has today announced their latest MSZ-FB series inverter split air-conditioners that come with the latest advances in inverter technology, an i-See sensor and Plasma Duo filters. The new MSZ-FB series is engineered for superb balance between high energy efficiency and quiet operation.

The MSZ-FB series is one of the most energy efficient models for its capacity on the market based on the international COP/EER rating system. It delivers an impressive 13% more energy efficiency in heating and cooling operations over the previous FA series, and is the quietest inverter series ever released with a bigger line flow fan that achieves a quiet 20db(A) for cooling and 21db(A) for heating.

Conventional air-conditioners control indoor temperature by using only the intake air temperature at the top of the room. The MSZ-FB series comes with a new i-See Sensor that detects the floor temperature over a wide 150 degree area. This prevents excessive chilling during summer and deficient warming during winter.

Besides a pre-filter, the unit is also mounted with two plasma air purifying functions. These functions zap air dirt particles from micron to nano size which reduces and removes bacteria, pollen and mould spores.

Most air-conditioning units only measure the temperature of air at the top of the room. The  MFZ-FB series utilises an 搃-see Sensor?which moves from side to side to search for floor temperature which ensures a more regulated temperature.

Other features in the new range include:
- A guaranteed operating range of -10 to 46 degrees for cooling and -15 to 24 degrees for heating
- A Mould Fighter function that suppresses the growth of mould spores
- A Quick Clean easily detachable front panel that is easy to wash and can save consumers up to 30% on their electricity bill

Superior colours and long-life performance with Mitsubishi Electric Leo Series Projectors http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news1684.htm SYDNEY 29 May, 2008 ?Thanks to a combination of innovative technologies, the new Leo projector series from Mitsubishi Electric sets a new benchmark in colour accuracy and reproduction.

The Leo series includes three new projectors, the XD500U, XD510U, and the XD520U. Each model features the latest 6-segment colour wheel design developed to enhance the colour spectrum by adding yellow and cyan segments to the standard red, green, blue and white segments.

The projectors automatically adjust themselves to optimise brightness and colour in the user抯 actual environment by using colour algorithms.  Moreover, the brightness of the three projectors means that they can be used in ambient light. The XD500U has a brightness of 2200lm, the XD510U is 2600lm and the XD520U is 3000lm. The 2000:1 contrast ratio guarantees excellent black level reproduction.

By combining BrilliantColorTM and lamp power modulation technology, the Leo series act intelligently to boost colours that are prone to being darker or less saturated.  This improves the overall intensity and vibrancy of the entire displayed image.  For instance, where there is a need to project vivid images in an already bright screen image, the lamp is programmed to provide brighter colours.  In contrast, when the objective of the display is to deliver an image with emphasis on genuine colour reproduction, the algorithm will deliver just the right colours with the appropriate radiance.

揟he Leo series projectors render images in new standards of colour richness, accuracy and quality.  Together with long-life performance, these projectors set new benchmarks for portable projectors in Australia,?said Thomas Seeto, Director, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

The differences between display systems are minimised through Mitsubishi Electric抯 sRGB colour profile technology. This eliminates hue variations and accurately matches the way colours look in real life.

揟he new 2008 range capitalises on last year抯 success as we move to build a strong brand leadership in the key Visual Information Systems markets,?Matt concluded.

Latest Mitsubishi Electric Projector Makes Presentations A Breeze http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news1320.htm

SYDNEY 17 January, 2007 ?Mitsubishi Electric抯 latest data projector will help make your next presentation standout with its widescreen 16:9 display. The WL639U portable WXGA projector has a viewing area of 1.3 times wider than conventional projectors, removing the need to scroll left to right. Depending on the applications, users can screen two windows at once. The widescreen resolution also gives this projector the ability to play DVD抯 at full screen without the need for compression. Boasting a high brightness of 3500 ANSI Lumens, the WL639U is perfect for conferences, meeting rooms and lecture theatres.

The projector has a low fan noise of 29dBA so you won抰 have to raise your voice to be heard while you are presenting and is also network ready, making it even easier to start a presentation via remote management from your laptop or PC.

揗eetings and presentations are often held in external locations so it is important that a data projector is portable and light? said Thomas Seeto, Director, Mitsubishi Electric. 揥e also feel that quality is just as important on a data projector as it is on a home theatre projector so we have ensured that the fan noise won抰 drown you out and that light and colour in the room won抰 wash out a projected image.?/P>

Colour Wall Correction enables you to maintain correct colours even when projecting on coloured walls. By selecting the colour of the wall in the setup menu, the projector will simply adjust its colour tone accordingly.

Real-life colours are captured using the latest 3LCD technology by matching hue variations in the colour spectrum. The colour is consistent across the screen due to its valuable colour enhancer and 3D Colour Uniformity features.

One of the projector抯 most appealing features is that it is not limited to one position and can easily be re-located and set-up using digital keystone correction. The projector also has enhanced security settings with its anti-theft anchor and prevention of unauthorised use through the user-selectable password which locks out menu functions.

Lamp life is excellent at up to 4000 hours and replacement is very easy as the lamp can be removed from the side of the unit.

Experience stellar presentations with Mitsubishi Electric HL650U projector http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news1150.htm

SYDNEY 15 January, 2007 ?Mitsubishi Electric Australia抯 HL650U portable SXGA+ projector enables users to experience stellar high resolution images with crystal-clear picture quality.  Featuring Super Extended Graphics Array (SXGA+) resolution, the HL650U offers users the ability to project images at 1400x1050 native resolution ?perfect for presentations from high end PCs.

With an immaculate brightness of 3100 lumens, the HL650U delivers clear presentations even in large or well-lit rooms.  The latest generation inorganic C2 fine LCD panels have twice the service life of organic orientation film, ensuring high-quality images that retain their sharpness and vibrancy over the long run.

Colour technologies such as sRGB and 3D Colour Uniformity also add to the excellence of the displayed images, ensuring truer colour reproduction by matching hue variations in the colour spectrum.  Also, the wall colour support feature allows the projection of high quality images onto coloured walls.

揟he HL650U projector not only reduces running costs, its high resolution display system with superb picture quality and brightness delivers a superior experience to users,?said Thomas Seeto, Director, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

Light source lamp temperature control allows optimum settings, leading to a long life lamp of up to 5,000 hours (in low mode).  This makes for dramatic reductions in running cost, while at the same time reducing maintenance downtime for lamp replacements.  If a lamp needs to be replaced, it can easily be removed from the side of the projector.  This is especially useful if the projector is mounted to a ceiling or a wall bracket.

Running at a low noise level of 29dBA, the HL650U has a quiet fan which is   unobtrusive and will not distract from the presentation.

Mitsubishi Electric Introduces New Affordable 1080p Projector http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news1119.htm

SYDNEY 24 October, 2007 ?A quality, high definition home theatre projector is now more affordable than ever before with the release of the Mitsubishi Electric HC4900 projector. The HC4900 has a great combination of features for its price such as the 1080p high resolution, 7500:1 contrast ratio, and the offering of both HDMI and DVI connectors to ensure the best signal quality from the video source.

Adding to the appeal of the HC4900 is the extremely low noise levels, just 19db in low mode, so that the drama of a quiet scene is not interrupted by the whirring of the projector. The projector has a long lamp life of up to 5000 hours and when it does need changing there is convenient side access for quick lamp changes.

"People shouldn't have to compromise on picture quality because of price. This projector means consumers can have a great home theatre and not have to break the bank to afford it", said Thomas Seeto, Director, Mitsubishi Electric Australia.

The HC4900 has been designed with three C2 Fine inorganic LCD panels that are more durable and provide a more colour-consistent, even-toned image than previous generation LCD panels. A protective filter is added to the LCD block housing to help reduce dust landing on the LCD panels, producing cleaner images.

The HC4900 has a sleek, black design and features power zoom and focus, plus lens shift to provide you with flexible options for installation. It also includes a trigger terminal which is great for those who have a motorised projection screen. When the projector is switched on, this will automatically drop the screen, a great feature for a projector at this price point.

Mitsubishi Electric Australia launches Visual Information Systems http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news417.htm

Mitsubishi Electric Australia today signalled a new direction for its digital electronics business with the announcement that the division will be rebranded, Visual Information Systems (VIS). The news follows strong results for the division with record projector sales being achieved in May.

The VIS product range will comprise four product groups: projectors, large format LCD information displays, security video recorders and video cubes. Mitsubishi Electric will phase out its range of Diamond Digital PC monitors between now and September 30 to concentrate on the high growth potential of the new visual market.

Paul Calderara, Sales and Marketing Manager, Visual Information Systems, said, "VIS represents our new focus on the rapidly growing commercial visual category in Australia. We have the technology pedigree to take a market leadership position in each of the four product groups and with our expanding sales team we expect our share of the market in the coming quarters to increase significantly."

IDC reports that with worldwide projector sales expected to grow by 1.6million, "the Australian projector market is at the cusp of growth, and key players are considering strategies to target market segments touted to experience the strongest growth over the next few years."

Paul added, "we agree with IDC's findings and our new direction is expected to capitalise on this growth. While the Diamond Digital PC monitor range has been successful for us in the past, the expanded product range in AV and security have highlighted that Mitsubishi Electric will enjoy strong returns from these categories."

Mitsubishi Electric will continue to support warranty and servicing for Diamond Digital PC monitors.

Mitsubishi Electric's futuristic take on hand drying http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news414.htm

Mitsubishi Electric Australia today announced the availability of the Jet Towel, a revolutionary new addition to the commercial hand dryer market. The breakthrough design halves the time taken to dry your hands - perfect for commercial kitchens, hotels and public bathrooms.

Unlike conventional hand dryers that require users to stand in front of the unit for at least a minute before hands are adequately dry, the unique ergonomic design of the Jet Towel makes drying hands faster.  The dryer works by the user placing their hands into a V shaped drying area where sensors activate the front and back air ducts. The blasts of air from each of the ducts ensure dry hands in 5-6 seconds.

The Jet Towel is environmentally efficient and economical, eliminating the need for paper hand towels that create mess and add to waste. The shorter time taken to dry also means less energy will be used.

Every area of the Jet Towel that comes into contact with water is treated with an antibacterial finish ensuring commercial areas comply with strict hygiene requirements. In addition, the dryer is designed for the user to avoid directly touching the unit, ensuring that they do not come in contact with bacteria from other users.

"Mitsubishi Electric set out to create a unit that would dry hands very quickly and help to maintain hygiene levels especially in areas such as commercial kitchens where time is precious and hygiene is of the utmost importance", said Tony Hirst, Mitsubishi Electric General Manager. "Aside from being economical, convenient and hygienic, it is a stylish unit that looks great in any commercial setting."

Installation is easy as the unit can either be fitted to a wall or the specially made Jet Towel stand can be used which enables the unit to be easily moved around if required.

Mitsubishi Electric up sizes its LCD screens again http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news298.htm

SYDNEY 23 May, 2007 ?Mitsubishi Electric Australia has today announced the release of the 42?LDT421V WXGA LCD display. The new LCD has the largest display space of any of the Mitsubishi Electric screens and provides any shop or boardroom with a professional touch. Designed primarily for the display of video and messaging content, the screens are perfect for digital signage, message boards, video conferencing or retail kiosks.

LDT421V 42" Widescreen LCD display from Mitsubishi Electric

The tile matrix capability allows the user to link up to 16 panels at one time to form a single configuration providing the opportunity to display images to scale. In large commercial spaces, this digital signage application delivers maximum impact.

The high contrast display incorporates motion shift and Gamma control; a screen protection feature which moves the images minutely in different directions to stop the image retention (burn-in) which can occur after extended use. The screen also features a cooling fan and brightness controls to help protect the life of the screen.

The LDT421V display has a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a brightness level of 500 cd/m?to create a picture with incredible visual detail.

揇ue to its great impact and professional look, digital signage is being used in more areas to help companies stand out from the competition. Trade shows in particular are seeing an increase in the number of stands making use of the eye-catching displays. Important reasons for choosing to go with digital signage are the ability to change the screens messaging at short notice and the impact of linking the screens together to create a gigantic image, delivering maximum impact? said Paul Calderara, Mitsubishi Electric Australia Digital Electronics General Manager. 揟he LDT421V expands the current range to three models with even larger sizes to be released soon. The entire LDT range is extremely cost effective while providing the highest level of product quality?he said.

The LDT421V comes with Picture in Picture (PIP) technology, allowing two images to run on one screen simultaneously. The display also has a rapid response time of 8 milliseconds ensuring fast moving pictures are free from ghosting.

To help preserve the life span of the panels the LDT421V detects when an input signal is no longer active and will automatically switch to power save mode to help protect the display. It also has a built in scheduling facility, which allows the user to set automatic times for the display to switch on and off. This way the model is working for the hours you want, while conserving the lifespan for the remainder of the time.

Mitsubishi Electric two-year limited onsite warranty is included with purchase.

Optional speakers are available for this model ?Model No: SP-421V

Mitsubishi Electric says black is the new black http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news193.htm

Black is back with the release of the new HC3100 DLP home theatre projector from Mitsubishi Electric. With unparalleled colour reproduction, the HC3100 will take your home theatre experience to new heights with its high resolution (1280 X 768) and high contrast ratio (4500:1) for perfect dark images, as well as a newly developed colour wheel for accurate reproduction of colour tones.

The inclusion of the new DMD Darkchip3 enables the HC3100 to project an even blacker black. The process achieves impressive reductions in reflection, creating a crisper, clearer contrast.

The HC3100 unique motorised iris enables optical contrast adjustments, which can be used to choose the optimal light output for what is being viewed. The iris can be narrowed for use in lower light rooms, ideal for atmospheric movie viewing. For a brighter room or watching programs such as sporting events, the iris can be opened fully, providing brighter, more striking images.

The HC3100 includes a trigger terminal which is great for those who have a motorised projection screen. When the projector is switched on this will automatically drop the screen, a sophisticated feature for a projector at this price point.

"This projector was developed to help create a state of the art home theatre that was affordable but didn't compromise on quality. As a result we even managed to include upmarket technology in there by incorporating the screen trigger," said Paul Calderara, Mitsubishi Electric Digital Electronics National Sales and Marketing Manager.

The HC3100 is whisper quiet with a 25dB(A) running volume, ensuring no background noise will distract from the viewing experience. The user also has the flexibility to choose the colour wheel speed - 5 speed when colour-breaking noise is a concern or 4 speed when the stress is on picture quality.

The projector has a 3000-hour lamp life and is filter-free which means there is no need to check filters, an extended lamp life and lower cost of total ownership.

Mitsubishi Electric brings the home theatre to everyone http://www.kurotaitu.com/press/news228.htm

The home theatre is now a possibility for everyone after the release of the Mitsubishi Electric HC1100 Home Cinema projector. At this entry point in the market it is definitely one of the most competitively priced home theatre projectors out just now. The HC1100 projector is a DLP model whereas the majority of projectors at this price point in the market are LCD.

It is equipped with the latest 720p DMD panel (DC2) featuring an expanded mirror operation angle of 12 degrees. The panels advanced light usage efficiency provides a contrast of 3000:1 for exquisite dark and black images.

The projector is definitely the lightest around, weighing a mere 2.9kg. The next lowest weight projector is 4.2kg making this the lightest projector in this category. The light weight makes this projector extremely portable. Not only can you fix the projector to the wall or ceiling, it can be moved easily from room to room without breaking a sweat. You could even take the movies to your friends place to share the cinematic experience.

"Projectors are the latest and greatest in home theatre currently and we want them to be accessible for everyone. Previously, new home theatre releases have been out of reach for many people but now everyone is able to have a great home theatre experience without breaking the bank", said Paul Calderara, Mitsubishi Electric Digital Electronics National Sales and Marketing Manager. "This has been achieved without compromising on quality", he said.

The projector features DarkChip2 to realise a high resolution of 1280x720 dots. A switch to dark metal in the mirror structure has greatly reduced reflection and stray light which has resulted in excellent gradation. Gamma correction improves picture quality even further, using three settings that best suit the program being viewed; for example a sporting event would be best viewed in one setting whilst a movie would look best on another.

The HC1100 is virtually maintenance free due to its filter free design and is fully manufactured in Japan, so the reliability and workmanship is second to none. And features low noise levels at only 25dB (A).

Availability and Pricing

The HC1100 is in stores now, available through home theatre specialist retailers.

RRP $1999.00
